For a superior lawn, it's essential to follow precise seeding guidelines.
Creating a New Lawn
Plow the soil to a depth of 20 to 30 centimeters.
Remove large stones and weeds by hand.
If the soil quality is poor or uneven, add topsoil to improve it.
Level the ground with a rake to create an even seedbed.
We suggest applying our Pre-Seed Fertilizer at this stage.
If you decide to use fertilizer, delay the seeding process by one week.
Spread the seeds evenly, by hand or with a mechanical spreader.
Gently rake the seeds so they are slightly covered by soil.
Apply a light layer of soil on top to aid germination and deter birds.
Compact the soil by walking on it or using a lawn roller.
Begin watering the area right away and keep it consistently moist until the lawn is fully grown.
Failure to keep the seeded area moist can impede the growth process.
Renewing an Existing Lawn
We advise using our Weed, Feed & Moss Killer for treatment.
Wait for eight weeks after treatment before you reseed.
Rake the lawn to remove dead grass, moss, and weeds.
Keep raking until the soil is broken up and airy.
Reseed the area following the recommended seeding rate, either manually or with a spreader.
Make sure the seeds are lightly buried just below the soil with a rake.
Top with a thin layer of soil to help with seed germination and to keep birds away.
Firm up the soil by walking over it or using a roller.
Water the lawn immediately and regularly to ensure proper establishment.
Inconsistent watering of the reseeded area can lead to delayed growth.
After planting your grass seeds, our goal is to help you cultivate an exceptional lawn. Here's a brief guide for the initial weeks post-seeding.
It may take between 6 to 8 weeks for your lawn seeds to fully mature.
Ensure daily watering of your lawn throughout this period.
Refrain from watering during periods of continuous rain.
Persist until your lawn displays uniform growth.
When the grass reaches a height of 3-4 inches, it's time for the initial mowing.
For the first mowing, use the highest mower setting to trim just the top inch.
Maintaining the health of your lawn is crucial. We suggest applying our Seasonal Fertilizers regularly to maintain a lush, healthy lawn free from diseases and weeds.
